Sound Thinking

Cleveland has a number of great bands and musicians. But there's also an infrastructure here that many cities don't have. Cleveland is home to Gotta Groove, one of the nation's vinyl pressing plants. National acts have recorded at studios such as Lava Room and SUMA. Akron's Earthquaker Pedals are sold in more than 150 stores around the world. Jakprints makes band T-shirts and merch. A Sound Baseline: Making Music Work, a collection of photos, celebrates these local institutions. The exhibit opened in mid-October but it wasn't complete. Now that it's finally complete, it will celebrate tonight with a reception from 6 to 10 at Space: ROCK. (Niesel)
