In tonight’s anthology of intriguing short films from Japan, Short Peace highlight’s some the country’s up-and-coming masters of the animated medium. Ranging from the bubbly anime style to deeply serious and lifelike, this program put together by Katsuhiro Otomo features an array of styles. In the award-winning Combustible, the film tells the tale of ancient firefighting in Japan amidst a love story, while A Farewell To Arms, created by Mobile Suit Gundam designer Hajime Katoki, takes on the sci-fi genre with robots in post-apocalyptic Japan. This is a one-night showing starting at 7:30 tonight at the Cedar Lee Theater. Tickets are $9. (Stoops)
