Love Bites

Xan Cassavetes, the daughter of director John Cassavetes, aims to outdo the Twilight flicks with Kiss of the Damned, a vampire film about Paolo (Milo Ventimiglia), a tall, dark and handsome screenwriter who falls for Djuna (Josephine de La Baume), a translator with a "skin condition" that keeps her out of the sunlight. Paolo hooks up with Djuna before realizing she's a vampire and it's not long before troubles ensue. While Cassavetes' film features better cinematography than any Twilight film, it's still overwrought with soap opera-like drama. (Jeff Niesel)
