Genesis 2.0

Genesis 2.0 focuses on the harsh and dangerous life of so-called "mammoth hunters" who live and work in the far north of Siberia. The film captures the gold-rush fever that exists in the market for mammoth remains, because prices for this "white gold" have never been so high. Sometimes the hunters even find an almost completely preserved mammoth carcass with fur, liquid blood and muscle. The movie shows tonight at 7 at the Cedar Lee Theatre as part of the Reel Science Series. Roberta Muehlheim, assistant curator in the vertebrate zoology department at the Natural History Museum, will host the screening. Tickets cost $9.75. (Niesel)
