Zen for Nothing

With this documentary movie, director Werner Penzel captures what life is like during one year in a Japanese Zen monastery. The film centers on a Swiss woman who spends three seasons (fall, winter, spring) as a novice at the place. It screens today at 1:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art, where it screens again at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tickets cost $10, or $7 for CMA members. (Niesel)
