Witches & Devils is an all-star Albert Ayler tribute band of Chicago-based musicians led by saxophonist Mars Williams. They reunite annually for sets that (says Peter Margasak) “merge Christmas songs with the indelible repertoire of free-jazz titan Ayler.... the performances are no joke, and they produce a seriously joyful noise.” New Ghosts have arranged this is a special trip the band will make to Cleveland to celebrate Albert Ayler's 80th Birthday.
