Where Is the Friend's House?

Where Is the Friend's House?, a 1987 film by Abbas Kiarostami, centers on an Iranian schoolboy who walks miles to an unfamiliar village to return a notebook to a classmate who may be expelled without it. The first part of Kiarostami's Koker Trilogy, the film comes off as a "moving tale of compassion and moral courage enhanced by humor, suspense, and poetry." It screens at 7 p.m. today at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets cost $10, or $7 for CMA members. (Niesel)
