The Land

Considered the father of the documentary film, director Robert J. Flaherty made a number of significant films before he passed away in 1951. With Return of the Naive, a special program featuring four features and four short films, the Cleveland Museum of Art provides a retrospective of his work. Today at 1:30 p.m., it screens his 1942 film The Land, a candid look at rural poverty in post-Depression America. It's preceded by the short film Manhattan Symphony. Tickets are $10. (Niesel)
