The Importance of Being Earnest

Baldwin Wallace University Uploaded by Baldwin Wallace University
The Baldwin Wallace University Department of Theatre and Dance presents this satirical comedy of manners, one of Oscar Wilde's most popular plays. The characters are ridiculous, the plot is full of misunderstandings and mistaken identities. Through it all, Algernon and Jack try to find true love while shooting barbs at the pompous and rigid Victorian society in which they find themselves. Written by a man who initially made a name for himself merely for being outrageously witty, the language of the play is a delightful, hilarious confection with unexpected turns.
