Directed by King Vidor, 1931 film The Champ follows a washed-up, alcoholic prize-fighter as he attempts to regain custody of his beloved son. The film screens at 7 tonight and at 7 on Friday night at the Cleveland Museum of Art as part of the CMA's boxing film series that arrives in conjunction with the centennial exhibit Stag at Sharkey's: George Bellows and the Art of Sports.
