When they played at last year's In Cuya music festival, Tank and the Bangas, a rowdy band out of New Orleans, could’ve easily played on a bigger stage. Wearing a bright green shirt and colorful camo pants, exuberant singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball held the crowd’s attention with her grinding dance moves, and the large ensemble mixed together funk, rock and jazz. The band's new album, Green Balloon, features an equally likable mix of genres. The quirky "Spaceships" possesses an Outkast vibe, and "Ants" features some tongue-twisting rhymes. (Niesel)
