Ironic that in 1994, Smoking Popes released an album called Born to Quit, and nearly 20 years later, the guys are still going at it. While they’ve just released a new studio album just recently, for this tour, they’re revisiting their glory days and will play Born to Quit, the album that got them their major-label deal, in its entirety. The disc, which includes introspective tunes such as “Gotta Know Right Now” and “Mrs. You and Me” pairs singer Josh Caterer’s Morrissey-like vocals with punk rock music that’s teeming with good, sharp hooks. The show begins at 7 p.m. at Mahall's 20 Lanes in Lakewood.
