Billed as “an evening of personal storytelling, gender-bending songs and no-punches-pulled conversations about sexuality, gender, oppression, hate speech and compassion’s transgressive power,” TingleTangle is another edgy play from the experimental local troupe Theater Ninjas. Lead artist and associate artistic director Ray Caspio has drawn upon his experiences as a married gay man to create the songs; live accompaniment is provided by Eric M. C. Gonzalez. “TingleTangle is a show about compassion and transformation, using the most powerful tool in theater: empathy,” says Caspio in a press release. The performance takes place tonight at 8 at Guide to Kulchur; performances continue through Saturday. Tickets are $5 to $20. (Niesel)
