It takes a minute to adjust to 23-year-old singer-songwriter Seth Glier’s boyish voice, but if you can get past thinking he’s 12, you’ll discover there are some true gems on the Massachusetts-based pop musician’s 2011’s Grammy-nominated The Next Right Thing. Glier’s got a truly soulful delivery, something that comes across well in songs such as the twangy “Lauralee” and the tender “Down With This Ship.” While we’re a bit mystified by the comparisons to Bruce Springsteen, Glier, who sounds like a poppier version of singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, is a talented songwriter with his heart in his right place.
