Often called "the father of African Cinema," Sengalese director Ousmane Sembene was the first native director to make movies in sub-Sahara Africa. A documentary directed by Samba Gadjigo and Jason Silverman, Sembene! chronicles his accomplishments. The movie makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art and screens again at 7 on Friday night. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
