Scout Niblett/Dope Body/Who Even Cares?

English singer-songwriter Scout Niblett plays a form of indie/experimental rock that you either love or hate. Her 2001 debut Sweet Heart Fever is a sparse affair that puts an emphasis on her soft voice. Think of her as a indie folk PJ Harvey. She's got the same intensity; that certainly comes through on her new album, It's Up to Emma. The disc opens with "Gun," a stripped down tune that benefits from a noisy guitar riff and a few well-placed yelps. Critics have called it her most accessible album but it might also be her most intense. (Niesel)
