Rust Belt Rock

Everyone knows that Cleveland rocked during the '70s when MMS was thriving and acts like David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and Rush made Cleveland a important stop on their tours. But what about before the '70s? Tonight at the Happy Dog, you can learn about Cleveland’s Rust Belt Alley, a songwriting industry that thrived in the early decades of the 20th century. The sing-a-long features sheet music and songs about Cleveland from the '20s, '30s, and '40s. The talk/event comes courtesy of Case Western Reserve University professor Daniel Goldmark, who will be strumming the ukelele during his lecture. It all begins at 7:30 and admission is free.
