Rumpke Mountain Boys

With a killer album in stores and in your headphones, now is the perfect time to catch a Rumpke Mountain Boys show. Luckily, the band’s in Kent tonight for a musical sojourn into the hills. They call their music “trashgrass,” which is a blend of bluegrass, jamgrass and, surely, that kind bud you’ve got growing in the closet. Any way you listen, though, the music is delightful and heartfelt. “Just Outside” will give you the band’s blues-meets-country pickin’ that runs rampant through the Mountain Boys’ blood. They’re Cincinnati boys, so give ’em the ol’ home-state welcome. (Eric Sandy)
