Indie rockers Rogue Wave recorded and produced their new album, Delusions of Grand Fur, their sixth studio album and first in more than three years, at their home studio in Oakland. Additionally, the bandworked without recording demo versions of songs—instead, the demos simply became the songs, astonishing when consider the intricacy of a tune such as album opener “Take It Slow,” a track that features layered vocals and wispy bits of electronic guitar and keyboards before concluding with some heavy drums.
