Next month, the Rock City Festival will feature a slew of regional bands and Cleveland artisans and street performers in a benefit concert and festival for Easter Seals. To generate some enthusiasm for the event, promoters will host a special launch party at 7:30 tonight at Quaker Steak & Lube in Lakewood. The launch party will also serve as a listening party for a compilation CD featuring the bands slated to play the festival. The Facebook invite for the event doesn’t list the tracks included on the disc but does say that they’re “Cleveland’s most outstanding rock, soul and funk recordings from 2013.” Guess we’ll have to take these guys at their word. The event is free. (Jeff Niesel)
