Revolutionary War Medal Shines at Gray's Auctioneers

Auction 65 includes a collection of Fine Art, Sterling Silver, Jewelry and Decorative Art objects. One highlight a suite of vintage hand-painted wallpaper panels in the "Decor Eden" pattern, ca. 1912, designed by Fuchs and produced by Defosse, Paris. Also featured is an enameled gold eagle insignia believed to have belonged to American Revolutionary War hero, Thaddeus Kosciuszko. The medallion is one of only 140 original eagles designed by Major Pierre L'Enfant and produced by Duval & Francastle, Paris, for inaugural members of the Society of the Cincinnati in 1784.
