Ray Jr./SetGang

If you just can’t wait until the next month’s big Cleveland hip-hop show at Jacob’s Pavilion featuring Kid Cudi and Machine Gun Kelly, you can hold yourself over with Ray Jr. at Peabody’s tonight. Ray has been climbing his way up the Cleveland rap scene for a while now and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks out with his own full-length album. In a collaboration with MGK, Ray Jr. sings the chorus on “I Know” which continues the duo’s almost noxious love for its home city. Ray Jr. also raps and sings about his deepest emotional problems on “Come Back,” a rollercoaster of a song about burying his first child. Ray Jr.’s mentality and style can be summed up in one opening lyric “2-1-6, the reason that we rhyme.” (William Hoffman)
