Radio Free France

Director Nicholas Philibert (Louvre City, To Be and To Have) takes a fly-on-the-wall approach in La Maison de la Radio, his new documentary about Radio France. He shifts from radio personality to radio personality to give a sense of the diversity of coverage (everything from game shows to hard news) the station provides. While the lack of any narrative structure (there's not even a voiceover) tends to be a bit disorienting, the film has a real day-in-the-life feel to it even though Philibert and his crew shot it over a six-month period. It makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art and it screens again at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
