Primary/Crisis Behind a Presidential Commitment

Robert Drew directs Primary and Crisis Behind a Presidential Commitment, two fly-on-the-wall documentaries that are among the director’s most famous films. Primary follows Democratic candidates Hubert H. Humphrey and John F. Kennedy during the 1960 primary election in Wisconsin. The second film, Crisis Behind a Presidential Commitment, takes viewers to a never-before-seen-story of how JFK’s administration responded to Governor George Wallace’s refusal to integrate the University of Alabama in 1963. The movie screens today at 1:30 p.m. a the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets are $9 for general admission, $7 for CMA members. (Wohler)
