Pierce the Veil/Sleeping With Sirens/Hands Like Houses

“A band of brothers” sounds like cliché unless your lead singer and drummer really are brothers who started their band together in 2006, in which case it’s true. After the disbandment of their first group, Before Today, Vic and Mike Fuentes wrote and recorded songs, changed their name, and released their freshman album, A Flair for the Dramatic. A year later, with guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jaime Preciado, Pierce the Veil cemented their lineup and their spot in the post-hardcore scene. The band’s second release (first with all the members), Selfish Machines, was a mix of cleaner vocals and riffs, like the track "Bulletproof Love," with harder screams and drums, like its first single "Caraphernilia,” which Jeremy McKinnon of A Day to Remember. Their newest album Collide with the Sky, which dropped earlier this year, is arguably the band's best, and definitely their heaviest album to date, evident in the single "King For a Day."
