In the Italian city of Padua, Bartolomeo Cristofori built the first piano 300 years ago. Today, his invention is the most beloved musical instrument. This special program brings two pianos together in the Murray Hill Galleries. We trace the instrument’s journey from the Baroque to the Modern era. Hear arrangements of well-known works and a rare Italian sonata for eight hands! Performers include alumni and students of the Cleveland Institute of Music: Allison Hillier, Maggie Johns, Grace Betry, Chris Neiner, and Brendon Phelps.
