Opening Ceremony: You Cannot Find It, and if you find it, you cannot touch it

Priscilla Lebron Florin
Free (no registration required)
Growing up in Cleveland’s Villa Hispaña, Priscilla was always surrounded by creative people but fine art seemed to be reserved for others. With bright colors and a lexicon of symbols inspired by both Cleveland and Puerto Rico, Priscilla makes art to enable Puerto Ricans to see themselves and their stories in fine art as easily as any other creative endeavor. The artist makes art about themselves and their people. To remember and to rebuild what was taken. . They reclaim and celebrate their identities: genderfluid, Puerto Rican and a child of immigrants.
