Only a Memory

Level Five, a trippy film about history and memory from director Chris Marker, was probably ahead of its time when it came out in 1997. The movie, which centers on a computer programmer who is attempting to make a video game based on the Battle of Okinawa, now seems very contemporary. The New York Times describes it as “a passionate and cerebral science-fiction adventure.” It screens tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art and shows again at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12. Tickets are $9.
