New York Staff Band Concert

The Salvation Army's renowned brass band, the New York Staff Band, will perform a free community concert in the Akron area. Formed in the spring of 1887, the New York Staff Band (NYSB) is the first staff band in Salvation Army music history. The band has visited the United Kingdom, toured Europe and Scandinavia on multiple occasions, traveled several times to the Far East, Australia and New Zealand and has been across the border into Canada on more than 20 occasions, and performed coast to coast in the USA.
