My Brilliant Career

In the 1979 film My Brilliant Career, Judy Davis portrays Sybille, a farm girl living in the Australian Outback during the late 19th century. Against her family's wishes, she aspires to become a writer. Critics regard the film as one of the key works of 1970s Australian New Wave.
