Mushroomhead

Even if you’ve managed living in Cleveland without hearing one of their songs, there’s no doubt you’ve still heard of Mushroomhead. The seven-piece heavy metal set started as drummer Skinny’s side-project in 1993 and molded into something that took over the Cleveland underground. With no intention of making it a permanent thing, the band played with masks on to avoid being recognized but eventually attracted a strong following and released their self-titled debut full length in 1995. Since then, it’s been album after album (ten, to be exact) of eclectic metal and hip-hop wrapped up in matching jump suits. A new album is in the works so expect to hear some new tunes tonight. And the band can still fill venues much bigger than Peabody’s so you can bet this show will sell out. (Nikki Hunt)
