Back in the mid-90s, five of Denroy Morgan’s children got together and formed a band to honor his legacy as a stalwart of the Jamaican reggae scene in the 70s and 80s. In their own right, the band has found great success on the island and here in the States. As recently as this year, the band picked up a Grammy for Strictly Roots, and they show no signs of slowing down. This music taps into the traditions of Jamaican music, with few new-school flairs. Check out the award-winning album, but do also take a spin through the band’s expansive catalog. We expect that tonight’s set will include tunes from all corners of their career, including maybe a hat tip or two to their father’s illustrious work. (Sandy)
