Missy Raines & the New Hip/Matt Watroba

Missy Raines is one of the most decorated bass players in the International Bluegrass Music Associations. Raines creates a smooth hybrid of jazz and bluegrass music with her band, the New Hip. Songs like “When the Day Is Done” combine different types of music. Raines has compared it to “loving many different types of music and dipping into this palette many different times in one song.” You clearly hear both jazz and bluegrass in a terrific tune like “When the Day Is Done.” (Abbey Christopher)
