The couple that plays indie rock together stays together. At least that’s how it works for Matt and Kim, the duo behind, well, Matt & Kim. The Brooklyn, New York pair came out of with a mediocre bang on their first self-titled full-length in 2006. It wasn’t until their sophomore album in 2009 released a video for the single “Lessons Learned,” where the two strip naked in Times Square, that fans took notice. That same “Grand” album released the track “Daylight,” the dance-party anthem from which you just couldn’t get away. Their newest record, Lightening, released early this month, gives fans the same lyricism Matt and drumming Kim have become known for. (Nikki Hunt)
