KentBluesFest: Tab Benoit

Grammy-nominated guitar ace Tab Benoit is an American blues icon. He learned to play the blues first-hand from a slew of living legends in the blues world. He formed a trio in 1987; he started out playing clubs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and toured the south two years later and the rest of the United States in 1991. His latest album, Legacy: The Best of Tab Benoit, features his signature Louisiana blues style and offers his takes on “I Put a Spell on you” and “Shelter Me,” the latter of which became the theme song for the Discovery Channel TV-series Sons of Guns. He’s the headliner at the fifth annual KentBluesFest. (Aziza Doleh)
