Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit

On tour in support of last year's Weather Vanes, alt-country rocker Jason Isbell and his 400 Unit backing band play tonight at 6:30 at Jacobs Pavilion. While Isbell's live show can be sleepy, the poignant songs still routinely hit home. Weather Vanes tunes such as the moody "Death Wish" and the ballad "Strawberry Woman" draw from country tropes while evoking classic rockers such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan. Singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo opens the show.
