Japanese Books and Boxes

When: Sat., May 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sun., May 31, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 2015

Students will make three traditional Japanese books in this two-day workshop, using variations of the yotsume toji technique. Using all Japanese materials, books will be constructed in the traditional hanshi size, using primary tacket binding with twisted Washi strips. Students will then move on to construct a traditional three-sided wrap-around case, made to fit their books perfectly.
