It's in the Mail

Mail Art (or postal art), a populist art movement of small-scale works sent through the United States Postal Service, now has a documentary chronicling its inception and rise in popularity. Making Mail was largely crowd funded and it screens tonight at Cleveland’s Zygote Press. The film was born out of filmmaker Michael Polk’s high-school friendship with Cleveland-based illustrator and mail artist Amber Esner, who helped arrange many of the film’s interviews. In addition to the doc, check out Zygote’s show with tons of local mail artists’ works. Tonight’s event is from 6 to 9 p.m. (Allard)
