Iris Show at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse

You know those showy purple flowers you see everywhere in May? Favored by Van Gogh and gardening geeks alike, those are irises. You can appreciate them in detail at the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse today, where time has officially been set aside to honor the lovely blossoms. At noon, observe the formal dedication of the new Williott Iris Garden, featuring all sorts of rare cultivars. Following the ceremony, cruise the gardens in and around the circa-1905 greenhouse; then check out the annual Northeast Ohio Iris Show, happening from 1:30 to 4 p.m. It’s beautiful, it smells great, and it’s free.
