Last year, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium hosted one of more than 900 Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) events which were held in 85 countries around the globe. Today, the aquarium will again join PADI in celebrating International Women's Dive Day with special programming and a focus on the area's certified divers. Women's Dive Day events include multiple opportunities to meet aquarium dive team members. Underwater talks will take place at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. There will also be conversations at a shark gallery information table. Or check out the scuba-themed kids' crafts, a dive trivia challenge and dive-themed temporary tattoos for children. Certified divers who visit on PADI International Women's Dive Day are eligible for $5 off same-day general admission for themselves and one guest with the presentation of proper ID. Certified divers will also be entered to win a future Shark Dive CLE experience that includes admission to the aquarium for the diver and one viewing guest, a tour of the aquarium dive platform, an exhibit walk-through and fish identification session, one dive in the 230,000-gallon shark exhibit, use of all the necessary dive equipment and as many souvenir shark teeth as the guest diver can find. Check out the website for ticket prices and hours. (Niesel)
