Hausu has issued a few singles off their upcoming album Total, set to come out June 25, but so far the songs sound generic rather than new and fresh. Despite falling into the stereotypical punk/alt rock sound, the group knows what kind of sound it is going for: namely, high-energy in-your-face punk music with gritty distorted guitar but with and coherent vocals. Think of the band as the equivalent of what Killers’ singer Brandon Flowers would sound like if he dropped the ’80s glam rock bit and embraced ’90s punk instead. (William Hoffman)
