Handguns/State Champs/City Lights/Veara

Pop-punk foursome Handguns is best described as the angst-ridden little brother of punk acts Man Overboard and Transit. After more than five years together, they still feel only one foot out of the garage door. Singer Taylor Eby’s typical gargling-salt-water vocals blend into the generic chugging guitars and relentless drums; the band packs plenty into songs averaging less than two minutes. Before releasing their first full length, 2012’s Angst, two members parted from the band, followed by a third immediately after the album dropped. Guitarist Kevin Cale left to try out for the Baltimore Orioles, guitarist Jake Langley left to start Post Season, and bassist Nate Bobb, well, he just left. But don’t let that deter you from checking out this show. (Nikki Hunt)
