JUNE 14th - One of the oldest and most essential tools of the homestead is the besom, commonly known as the broom. An influential symbol in many cultures, the broom has been associated with many mythologies, ceremonies and important rituals. In this informative, interactive and retrospective workshop with local fibers artist Melissa Daubert, students learn how to construct a handmade broom using various materials. Students will engage with Daubert and discuss her special relationship with fibers and other materials which she uses to create kinetic pieces. * SCHEDULE: Sunday, June 14th / 1PM - 3PM
