Tonight’s show features several young bands skyrocketing toward some kick-ass plane in the rock ’n’ roll sky. Foals, an Oxford-bred band known for plinko-infused power pop, has been having a terrific year thus far. Last year’s Holy Fire underscored the band’s talent and drive displayed on previous outings. Cue up “Inhaler” — though you can skip the video — and nod your head to the slick riffs and thunderous refrains. Surfer Blood, meanwhile, is set to release a supremely, hotly, incredibly anticipated follow-up to 2010’s beloved Astro Coast. The band’s new album, Pythons, will drop on June 11, and all indications point to another energized bout of songwriting. Blondfire will open tonight’s show, rounding out a top-notch bill. Be there!
