Flosstradamus

Though the subgenre of hip-hop had been around for nearly a decade, Trap music recently increased in popularity after merging with EDM. And DJs J2K and Autobot, better known by the moniker Flosstradamus, are some of the most popular producers waving the Trap flag high and proud right now. Capturing the attention of big-time DJ/producer A-Trak, they released their first big Trap-style EP, Jubilation, on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records in 2011 before the new wave of Trap music would hit at full-force. It wasn’t until they released their infamous remix of Major Lazer’s “Original Don” that Flosstradamus became a household name as the release prompted Diplo to release Flosstradamus’ EP Total Recall under his popular label Mad Decent Records. Since then, the sky’s the limit for the duo, which produced the song “Flexin & Finessin” for Iggy Azalea and Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, remixed Usher’s “Climax” alongside Diplo and remixed Drum & Bass titan Sub Focus’ “Tidal Wave. They were also responsible for mixing and mastering the notorious “Harlem Shake,” so perhaps they deserve some credit for the song’s success (along with some disdain, depending on how sick you are of that song now).
