Flatliners/Holy Mess/Astpai/Worship This!

Despite what the name would imply, The Flatliners certainly won’t accept the notion that “punk is dead.” In fact, the decade-old band is breathing life back into the punk scene – sticking true to the old mantra of punk (which is more or less about being angsty, broke and touring in a beat-up van). Exclaim! magazine declared their 2010 album Cavalcade to be the fourth best album of 2010 punknews.org ranked it at the very top. The band also plans on releasing a new album sometime this year – though the guys have been pretty tight-lipped about the details. The best way to get the skinny on their new material would be to see them live, or better yet, buy them some booze at the show. (Sam Mendez)
