Film Screening & Talk-Back - Dancing in Jaffa

Famous ballroom dancer Pierre Dulaine returns to his birthplace in Jaffa to confront issues of identity, segregation, and racism by teaching Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli children to dance together through Dancing Classrooms, a social development program for fifth-graders that uses ballroom dancing “as a vehicle to change the lives of the children and their families.” A talk-back follows with Tyler Olson, Program Manager & Adjunct Faculty of the Conflict Resolution & Peace Studies Certificate Sustained Dialogue Program for Cuyahoga Community College.
