Federico Cuatlacuatl: XOXAL: baño de fuego | XOXAL: shower of fire
TSC, Federico Cuatlacuatl
When: Wednesdays-Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Continues through Nov. 8 2025
Federico Cuatlacuatl's art is rooted in his experiences as part of the Indigenous community displaced from Cholula, Mexico. His latest experimental video, celebrating its world premiere, and his multimedia installations are framed by "Migrant Nahua futurisms," which amplifies the realities of Indigenous immigrants. Through his work, Cuatlacuatl explores what it means for an immigrant to embody a transborder life, existing in two places and dimensions of time while simultaneously navigating the past, present, and future. For Cuatlacuatl, belonging means creating a new space between two worlds where carrying Nahua traditions forward is a powerful act of resiliency, self-preservation, and resistance.
