Euclid Beach Park Day

Locals still fondly remember Euclid Beach Park, one of the most prominent former amusement parks in Cleveland. Though the place closed in 1969, its memories remain. Four years ago, the Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS), Cleveland Carousel Society and Euclid Beach Park Now partnered to restore the 1910 Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel to operating condition. At that time, WRHS also launched Euclid Beach Park Day to commemorate the amusement park. This year's festivities take place today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cleveland History Center. There will be unlimited rides on the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel, lawn games, food trucks, pony rides and more. In addition, Lolly the Trolly will offer special Euclid Beach Park tours featuring storytelling and narration. Check the website for ticket prices and more details. (Niesel)
