Ethiopian Binding Taught by Kerri Harding

As one of the oldest known forms of the codex, Ethiopian bindings are easily identified by the gorgeous chain stitch that runs along the spine of the book. They are deceivingly simple to make and they open flat, making them an excellent choice for journals. In this workshop, you will fold, punch and sew a four-needle Ethiopian binding using binder’s board covered with decorative paper or bookcloth. Some bookbinding experience would be helpful, but is not necessary.
